Preparing to Install

Hardware Requirements

 

One or more modems or serial devices accessible via Windows COM ports.

 

 

Local Computer Requirements

 

The following platforms are supported:  Windows 2012, 10, 8, 7, 2008, Vista, 2003, XP and 2000, including all R2, 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions, on native and virtual platforms, including Virtual Server and VMware.

 

 

Network Requirements

 

A TCP/IP network connection between the DialOut/EZ client PC and the TacServe PC is needed.

 

 

Server and Firewall Requirements

 

If there is a firewall between TacServe and DialOut/EZ clients, then it must permit TCP connections on port 7000 from the DialOut/EZ clients to TacServe.  If permitted by the firewall, allow TacServe to receive incoming connections on TCP port 7000 and any other ports being used.  Its path and filename are:

 

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\TacServe.exe (x86 systems),

or

C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\DRIVERS\TacServe.exe (x64 systems).

 

 

Information and Software Required

 

The TacServe COM Port Server setup program.
Administrator privileges for the computer on which you will be installing TacServe.
A TacServe license key, unless installing as a 30-day evaluation.
